For those who love Sancerre and Pouilly-Fume but hate paying the price, the Guy Allion ‘Les Mazelles’ Sauvignon Blanc is going to make you very happy.
From a smaller, family-run estate in Touraine, to the west of Sancerre, this is a wonderful rendition of Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc at a great price. The 2018 vintage was very kind to the vignerons of the Loire Valley, yielding brilliant and classically styled white wines.

I’m predicting this will become one of our top-selling whites of 2020. Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc is more popular than ever and this version represents an incredible value, especially when you compare it to Sancerre which starts at $25 these days. There’s just so much to like here!
Bright, clean, zingy and focused, this is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc to enjoy on a warm spring day. The flavors are of lime and kiwi, gooseberry and lemon, with subtle herbal and mineral notes. That last “kick” of mineral on the finish lets you know this comes from the rocky, flinty, limestone-rich soils of the Loire Valley.
And it’s a wonderful, family owned estate practicing organic viticulture. I don’t intentionally buy wines just because they’re organic. THEY HAVE TO BE GOOD FIRST AND FOREMOST! But it’s always nice when a wine as delicious as this comes from a smaller family domaine that cares about their land.
If you’re looking for a refreshing white to enjoy on sunny spring days, look no more. This one is going to fly out of the store in a hurry. And keep in mind there’s only 10 cases (120 bottles) to be had at the sale price.
As most of you know, we’re doing curbside pickup only — no in-store shopping options. To place your order, use the contact form below or call us at 828.505.8588. We will need to process your payment over the phone before you pickup. Thanks and cheers to spring sipping in the AVL!
